Been about a month since I posted. Sorry about that. I guess I took December off from life and my diet and writing. I didn't write anything, psoted nothing on my blog, and gained about 12 pounds. I'm sure I'l lget the weight off soon enough, so that's no big deal, and I'm posting on my blog now. I made a contest with Robin to see who could write the most this month, so that'll help me get some writing done.
I'm writing a book about a teddy bear that was brought to life by a magical book. It started as a book for children, but somewhere around the third paragraph I changed my mind and decided to make it for adults. It's not that different, just the ideas expressed are different. I'd never make any comments on religion in a kids book, but in an adult book I feel that is open game. If adults can't discuss religion without getting upset, who can?
I've got a cheap skate tip for those of you short on money. Renting movies or buying them costs money, which is no fun. And buying books is also a drain, a large drain if you are buying hardcover. I recommend using the library. I use mine quite frequently. I can log onto the library system from home and have them collect a bunch of DVDs for me and then go pick them up when they are available. This costs me nothing. The only major downside is that DVD's are usually scratched so there is on average one minute (sometimes much more, sometimes much less) in every movie that I don't see because my DVD player can't play it. Still the cost of seeing that additional 1 minute is about 5 dollars (if I rent it) so it isn't reall worth it. Besides, the library has more obscure titles than any rental place I know of.
